Day Fifty-Nine: Hymn #76

by Tom Noonan

Some songs feel more like memories, all-consuming energy fields you can inhabit for around four minutes at a time.  Joe Pug’s “Hymn #76” put you through three or four ringers then just ends.  With sparse instrumentation fading into the background, we’re left alone with lines like, “The world has bested better men than you”.  This song probably has, too.
