Day Fifty-Eight: Dear Bo Jackson

by Tom Noonan

The Weeks’ overachieving debut Comeback Cadillac dwelled in the delusions of hometown heroes, setting desperate imagery to pop-infused riffs.  The lead track from their second full length, Dear Bo Jackson, tells a different story.  With a new, blues heavy frame, all that disorder and turbulence rises to the surface.  Cyle Barnes’s heart is no longer buried under a couple feet of rock tropes; it’s pulsing directly into your headphones.
